Debt Negotiation
Credit card spending is at an all time high according to The
Nilson Report which is a trade paper of the credit card industry.
During the first six months of 2002, $920.90 billion in purchases
and cash volume was generated by Visa, Mastercard, American
Express, Discover and Diners Club, up 8.1% over the first half of
2001. According to this same credit card industry trade paper,
delinquencies and charge-offs were also up significantly over last
year.
The Federal Reserve reveals that credit card debt in 2002, and
household debt in general, is at an all time record high when
compared to disposable income. Many analysts are concerned that
this unprecedented level of debt poses a significant danger not
only to the financial health of American households but our entire
economy.
If you find yourself in a difficult financial situation, an
experienced and successful debt negotiator can help.
Creditors can often be intimidating, threatening legal action
arrest or
the garnishment of wages. However, lawsuits rarely happen because
we are able to effectively communicate with the creditors and
their attorneys. Even in those highly unusual circumstances where
a lawsuit is filed by a creditor, we typically settle those suits
in your favor. Wage garnishments are even more rare because a
creditor has to sue you first before it can attach or garnish your wages. The
reality is, a skilled experienced debt negotiator who is also
familiar with the law can almost always settle the matter without
an incident.
There are several important strategies used for successful debt
negotiation, including:
Contact the right
person at the creditor or collection agency.
Know the complex laws
of debt negotiation, and the rights of the debtor.
Document settlements
to protect yourself from further action by creditors.
An objective debt
negotiator can offer successful past experience with creditors.
